Damn you Ewan MacGregor…
May 13, 2008
Watched Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman’s second documentary ‘Long Way Down’ on Sunday, and have suddenly become obsessed with the idea of going to Africa. Which is odd, as have never really been that desparate to go.
The second doco was rather different to the first, as for the first part of the trip they were rushing to get to the bottom of Egypt in order to get a boat through the Sudan. I think there were more time constraints this time round than last time, and you could tell they were annoyed by the time they got to Aswan. I would have been too, they spent maybe 4 or 5 days in Egypt. FIVE DAYS. I would go for three weeks and it would probably not be enough.
Still. When they went to see the gorillas in Rwanda I was sold on Africa, and have spent all morning reading travel articles about Africa. It’s even got me excited about going back to Morocco, which I didn’t think would happen after the last time I went there.
Damn you Ewan McGregor and your Scottish charms and your making-me-want-to-go-to-Africa-ness.
